Saturday we had a ladies tea and it was nice for a tea. There was left-over chicken salad, so last night they had some sort of little things that looked like a cross between flatbread and buns with the chicken salad on it with chips downstairs in the game room. I sat and listened to a man telling about immigrating here in 1922 from Persia. He was 3 and they arrived in New England. They were informed that the quota for Persia was already full and they'd have to return to Persia. But since his dad was a minister, he could stay but his mom and the kids had to return. His dad contacted a brother of his in Gary (Indiana, I assume) and he too was a minister. He somehow worked it out for the entire family to go there. Their plan was to go to California, but that never happened. It was a very interesting story.

Phyllis and Ila were here most of the day yesterday and I'm going to meet them at Parksdale tomorrow morning. I need more strawberries and oranges and some celery.

I got a shot of cortisone in my hip joint on Friday and it is improving slowly.

Triumphant was very good Saturday night. A group called Old Paths was here Sunday night and they were okay.

Have a good day/night.

Hello! Is anyone reading this, or am I just doing this to keep myself busy? Let me know if you are reading it!

Karen Peck was in a movie with Dolly Pardon and someone else who's name I didn't recognize. The movie is out now and has a two word title, but I can't remember the name of it. Karen is the director of a choir that won the competition last year, so they are the host in the movie. She even has a speaking part besides doing a song for it.

This was part of the conversation tonight:

Karen Peck: "I'm different than Dolly Parton."

Charles Kirby: "Yeah."

Open mouth. Insert foot. Dr. Kirby's complexion changed colors.

I'm really having trouble walking now, so Wednesday can't get here soon enough. I may have to start using the walker again.

Have a good day/evening and let me know if you are reading this.

I see it's been a week since I've done this. Let's see. I've seen 5 concerts since then and played a few games of cards. Tonight's concert had some long distance guests that I shook hands with. They are from Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Hoppers sang at their church in Belfast. I seem to sit in the area where a lot of special guests sit. Last week the extended family of the boy who recited the book of Ephesians sat in front of me and this week it was the couple from Belfast.

I also got an appointment with an orthopodist for Wednesday afternoon. The lady who recommended him goes to him and also is a nurse.

The groups I've seen are Legacy 5, Ivan Parker, Tribute, Larry Ford, and tonight the Hoppers. I had never seen Larry Ford live before and he was very personable.

The card games played here are Red Trump and Donut. Donut is sort of a cut throat form of Red Trump and was created by the son of a man here from Manitoba. His name is Elmo, but I haven't met Bert or Ernie yet! I'd never heard of Red Trump before.

I've gone to chapel once and probably won't support it as often as recommended. Keep in mind that I'm staying in a holiness campground.

Recently I've had several very serious situations to be praying about. Have a good day/evening.

Last night I went to a concert. Keep in mind that Bill Bailey has several hundred booster club members, pastors a congregion of several hundred and promotes concerts all over the southeast. I walked in the door and he looked at me and said, "Miz Huff go over there and tell her to get your packet out of my briefcase for you." Last year he needed me to help him with my name at the luncheon and as soon as I said it he said, "Iowa." I got my packet and went on in to find my reserved seat on the front row two seats from the center. That was close enough to have a lot of eye contact. On the venue were TonyGore, whom I had never seen in person before, The Perry's, and Gold City. I was also close enough to notice that one of the men had evidently hung his pants on a wire hanger twice. He should probably use a plastic hanger or hang them by the cuffs! Tracey Stuffle looks great and says he never deviates from his prescribed diet.

Tonight I went to supper at church and then the Legacy Five Concert. They were unloading when I got there, and I had to notice that none of them were wearing jeans or t-shirts. Scott Howard was in great shape and had the audience in stitches.

Before the concert we had a real treat. Two years ago one of the usher's great-grandsons recited the entire book of James. This year he recited the entire book of Ephesians. The lady beside me followed along in the bible and she said he missed one entire verse, but the rest was perfect! He's probably 13 or so now. What a gift! Two years ago, he merely recited it, but this time he used a lot of hand gestures. It was almost like he was Paul talking to us.

Have a good evening!

Well, I went to the game room to play card games tonight. One was called Red Trump and the other Donut. They are very similar and are played with Rook cards. The bad thing is that I kept thinking that it was quite recently that Mom was going to Arizona and playing cards in the evenings. At this young age am I becoming my mother?!

I talked to a man from Ohio who goes to church with a couple named Bob and Linda Huff! What a small world it is!

Well, I'm not sure I need to play games every night, but it was okay for tonight. Of course tomorrow night I'm going to a concert with the Perry's and Gold City. Definitely not a time to be playing cards then!

Have a good evening/day!
Well, I was going to go to CiCi's today, but it was illusive, so I went to Golden Corral again. Then I went to sit in the sun and watch the swans, ducks, geese, etc. There was a nice warm breeze and very nice. Have a good day!

Well, I guess it's time to report in for this year. I arrived here on Wednesday and Margee and family moved me in Thursday. I'm at the Florida Holiness Association Campgrounds in an upstairs apartment.

It was so good to see so many familiar people this morning at church. Saturday night Legacy 5 will be there and I'm looking forward to it. You can watch it live at 5:00 Central time at Lakegibsonchurch.com.

Please continue to pray for Bill Allison and his family. Times are tough there and Satan is attacking from all sides.

It's been nice and warm here but a cold front is supposed to come through tonight making next week cooler.

Have a good day/night. It's 8:30 PM here.
